Severance High School Softball fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 3-2 loss to Roosevelt on Thursday. The pitching was strong on both sides. Roosevelt pitchers struck out nine, while SHS sat down eleven. Though Roosevelt hitters were able to execute early in the game, scoring the first from a single.

SHS threw both Deegan Fry (Freshman) and Natalia Puchino (Junior). Fry allowed six hits and three runs over one and one-third inning, walking only one. Puchino came in for Fry allowing four hits and zero runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eleven and only walking one.

The Silver Knights collected 13 hits on the night. Puchino, Fry, Randi Mitchell (Sophmore), and Kassidy Lines (Junior) each had multiple hits for SHS. Fry and Puchino each managed three hits to lead the team.

This was a better team outing, and something the girls should be proud of. They will keep moving forward and growing with every step.
