Sophomore Carson Fagan set a new school record after firing a round of 81 on the par 70 Twin Peaks Golf Course in Longmont, earning himself an 11th place finish as an individual. The rest of the Silver Knights hung in there to finish in 9th place in the fourth Tri-Valley league event of the season. Sophomore Austin Guerette and freshman Brycen Farris finished tied for 33rd, while freshmen Patrick Maxwell and Ryder Atkinson finished at 41st and 50th respectively to round out the varsity scoring. A host of new faces participated in the JV portion of the event, in order to gain experience and give the guys an opportunity to vie for a varsity spot later in the year. Freshmen Ian Reynolds and Logan Craig led the way for that group, with a tie for 37th, while freshmen Leon McCauley and Dillan Hasbargen finished at 40th and 41st respectively in their first live competition. It was a promising day to build on for the young Silver Knights, but there is still a lot of work to do as we head into the second half of the season. Next up for the varsity is the Chad Godfrey Memorial Tournament in Sterling on September 4th, while the JV will head to Mountain Vista in Fort Collins on September 3rd.
