The Silver Knights boy’s varsity golf team made a huge step in the right direction today in the Frederick Invitational at Coyote Creek Golf Course in Fort Lupton. After finishing last in the first three events of the season, the boys came together with their lowest team score and best finish of the year at 11th place out of 13 teams. While still not quite where we want to be, it was the first hurdle to clear on the way to bigger things in the future. Sophomore Carson Fagan posted his best score and finish of the season, placing 36th in individual competition. Sophomore Austin Guerette continued his strong play with a 39th place finish, with Freshman Patrick Maxwell, demonstrating his usual consistency, finishing one shot back at 40th. Freshmen Ryder Atkinson and Brycen Farris showed more improvement and also finished within shot of each other with a tie for 43rd and 47th place, respectively. Next up is the the fourth Tri-Valley conference meet of the season next Tuesday, August 27th at Twin Peaks Golf Course in Longmont, hosted by Erie.
